How to Deal with Network Timeouts
Steps to diagnose and resolve network timeout issues with your camera.
Try switching to a different network. If that doesn't work, follow the steps below:
1. Disconnect the Device Preview Screen and Check the Network Type
First, check whether the issue occurred on a local area network (LAN) or a 4G network.
Local area network (LAN) — 2 possible causes:
- (1) Network problems: have the user play a video on their mobile phone to see if it stutters.
- (2) The device is too far from the router. It is recommended to install the camera no more than 10 meters away from the router.
4G network:
- (1) Check if the internet is slow by playing a video on your phone to see if it stutters.
- (2) If stuttering occurs on 4G, one possible reason is insufficient server bandwidth. Try again at a different time or switch to smooth mode.
2. Check Whether the Device Firmware Is Up to Date
Note: The frame rate for remote access is 6 frames per second.
